Metrology reforms

In Tashkent, regular expert meetings dedicated to the development of the metrology sector were held as part of an international project implemented on the initiative of Germany's National Metrology Institute (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt - PTB).

The main purpose of the event was to evaluate the preliminary results of the metrology system reform process in Uzbekistan, explore opportunities to expand private sector participation in these reforms, and discuss issues related to providing the industry with qualified specialists.

The expert interviews were attended by representatives of private organizations and higher education institutions operating in the fields of metrology, conformity assessment, and certification. Among them, the "BM-Sert" certification body under "G-TEST" LLC actively participated, sharing its experience and proposals regarding ongoing reforms, existing challenges, and prospective directions in the sector.

The opinions and proposals gathered during the expert meetings will be summarized by international experts and used to develop recommendations for further improving the metrology system. These recommendations are expected to serve the development of quality infrastructure in Uzbekistan, expand private sector involvement, and advance the metrology sector in accordance with international requirements.

G-TEST will continue to actively participate in such initiatives aimed at developing quality infrastructure, improving the conformity assessment system, and implementing international best practices in practice.
